AI Face Matching on the Mobile App

Our mobile apps for Android and iOS have been updated with a new functionality that matches your digital photograph contained within your National Identity Card or Electronic Passport with a photograph taken with your smartphone:

• to prevent privacy issues, your photographs are never sent to remote servers or stored anywhere
• a cutting-edge deep learning algorithm compares your photographs and prevents face spoofing
• this authentication method is already considered equivalent to physical identification (i.e., high trust level on eIDAS and ETSI EN 319-401), but with a much lower cost and without human intervention

In short, this feature prevents registering stolen IDs.
